Mandy Wan Ceramics
Mandy wan was born in Hong Kong of Chinese parentage.
She studied for her Bachelor of Arts in Ceramics at Camberwell College of Arts. During her second year, she attended Alfred University of Arts in the U.S.A as an exchange student. After completing her degree course, Mandy spent a year setting up her studio and exhibited examples of her work around galleries in the U.K. She then returned to Camberwell College to study and obtain her Masters Degree in Print Making.
Mandy loves to use found objects and things used domestically to create innovative patterns in her work. She uses her knowledge of varietals forms, shapes and patterns to create her ceramic pieces. Architecture, sculpture and children’s toys are major sources of inspiration used to develop the finished products.
Mandy teaches private students in her studio at Gipsy Hill Workshop. She also runs a Ceramic Club in Rockmount Primary School and, during the school holidays.
